How to get rid of pimples and acne at home

No one loves pimples. It destroys the natural beauty of our face and body. Sebum is a natural oil that if over produced, it can build up and block the pores of our skin causing black heads or white heads. Should it become infected with bacteria, pimples, pustules and abscesses may follow. There are some good medications for pimples. However, it is important to cut down the cost of some products at certain points in life. Here are some home remedies for your pimple so you could cut down the cost of using expensive medication.

1 Steam your face
Boil water in a small pot and pour it into a small bucket or bowl. Cover your head with a towel so it creates a tent and let the vapour from the boiling water heat your face. It should be done for about 10 minutes. Using steam on your face dilates your blood vessels and opens up your pores.

2 Garlic

Pimples and acne can be treated with garlic. Grind the garlic and apply the paste on the affected areas. In order to achieve best results garlic should also be taken orally. This also helps to purify the blood and kill bacteria that causes pimples and acne.

3 Lemon Juice

Lemon juice has antibacterial and astringent properties that can help clear up pimples or acne. Apply the lemon juice on the affected area and allow it to get dry. Wash off the lemon juice from your face after an hour.

4 Egg white

Egg white can be used to get rid of pimples. Simply apply it on the skin and wait for about 30 minutes. Rinse your face with water and allow it to get dry.

5 Egg white, lemon and honey face mask

You will need the following:
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of lemon juice

Mix the egg white, honey and lemon juice in a bowl and apply on the affected areas. Allow it to get dry on the face. This should take about 15 minutes. Rinse your face with look warm water and allow to get dry. This can be done every day till the pimples disappears.

6 Sea salt, aloe Vera and honey face mask

If you have sea salt, dissolve it in a small quantity of warm water. Add one teaspoon of honey and one teaspoon of aloe vera to the water. Apply on your face and allow it to get dry. Rinse your face with water and allow it to get dry. It is important to do this once a day because if it is over used, the salt can cause your face to get dry and peel off.


7 Eat foods that help in fortifying the skin

The foods that help in promoting good skin health are those that contain Vitamin A and D.  Vitamin A can be found in sweet potatoes, carrots, mango and red oil. see foods that contain Vitamin A.
Vitamin D can be gotten by exposing the skin to the early morning sun for about 15 minutes.

8 Use apple cider vinegar

Just like lemon juice, apple cider vinegar has antibacterial properties. It is necessary to dilute apple cider vinegar with water before using it on the face. Apply apple cider vinegar on the affected area and wash with warm water after it gets dry. Do this once every day.

9 Baking soda also known as sodium bicarbonate

Baking soda helps in reducing inflammation and helps in exfoliating dead cells from the surface of the skin. Make a paste using baking soda and warm water. Apply on the skin and rinse after allowing it to sit for about 30 minutes.

10 Toothpaste

Apply toothpaste on the affected area of the skin for not less than 30 minutes and rinse with water. 

11 Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera has anti-bacteria and inflammatory properties. This are very useful in the fight against pimples. It is better to use fresh aloe vera. Extract the juice from aloe vera and apply on the face. You may chose to leave it overnight and rinse the next morning.

12 Banana peel

Banana contains a compound called lutein that helps in reducing inflammation and encourages the growth of healthy cells. All you need is 1 banana. Apply the peel all over the face or affected spot and allow it to sit for at least 30 minutes before rinsing your face.

13 Tea tree oil

Tea trea oil is a good skin care oil. It also has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties making it a suitable remedy for acne. Simply apply the tea tree oil to the affected area and wash it after waiting for about 30 minutes.
